Aix-en-Provence - City of water, city of art

Protected by the Montagne Sainte Victoire, dear to Paul Cezanne, Aix-en-Provence is surrounded by countryside with full of authentic Provencal houses. It name comes from the hot springs discovered in the foundation of the city in 123 BC by the Romans.

Many famous writers or painters were inspired by the charm of the city: Stendhal, Mistral, Zola ....

Every year, the city comes alive around its monuments, fountains, entertainment ... student life is dense and every summer for over 50 years, organizes the Aix Festival International d´Art Lyrique. Nothing is easier than you set out to discover the most beautiful landscapes of Provence, the Calanques, the Camargue, Provence or the Cote d´Azur.
