Wonderful beauty
My work is a result of the passion for digital photography and collage/painting. I like to combine them and create something new.
The main point in my work is always the beauty. I find it everywhere and I just try to reinforce it with my artistic vision and skills. Color is always important. I add it in large spots ot just for some details.
What do I want to represent in my works ? That beauty is everywhere around us.
City, first inspiration
Inspiration comes from many directions. Mainly ist the city with all its facets. I love the views over the rooftops. Every city is different and has ist identity with the typical landmarks. In Barcelona you see all the terraces and a few tall buildings. Paris with its zinc roofs, and the Eiffel Tower or Montmartre. But also the verticality and perspective of architecture. New York is fantastic for that.
Another big subject are classic racing cars, which I like a lot. I go to see them on racing events in Germany, France, Italy or Spain.

Between photography and painting
In a first step I use digital manipiuations programs on the computer to work on the photo. Then I print the result and bring it on canvas. In the manual phase I continue my personal interpretatio. This part is very spontanious and more uncontroled. Lots of little creative accidents are happening due to the mixture of different materials and paints. Between the various stepts the piece always needs to dry. So the whole process can take some days. |
A different view on city
The influence comes more of being a foreigner living in a different country. Then you perceive the things differently and observe with fresh eyes. You also feel the diffence in culture and enjoy it. A friend from Barcelona just told me that he never saw his city like me. With my color I turn normal or boring places in wonderful sites.

Several exhibition places In the beginning of my career I exhibited in cool bars, restaurants or fashion stores. Also in a private luxury car club or just recently in the french national car museum (Cite de l’Automobile in Mulhouse). I like the contrast and interaction of my artwork with different spaces. They always look different. |
Markus Haub and Carré d´artistes®
I work since october 2008 with Carré d’artistes® and I think I made many customers very happy with my paintings. The gallery is a great concept, because it makes art very affordable for everybody. Clients also don’t choose by price, because all artists cost the same.
In july 2009 I was invited for a dedication in the Barcelona gallery..
