His carrer
Thierry Vieux studied fine arts at Aix en Provence.
Between 1980 and 1988, he made numerous trips to Brazil and began to practice painting professionally. Since then he has tested various pictorial experiences whenever exposed gallery.
After years of practice of painting in different styles mainly classical or neo-impressionists he considers part of his training, Thierry Vieux takes a new turn.
Pop-art inspiration
Fashion in France of POP-ART and retrospectives of personalities like Andy Warhol have been beneficial for artists. Indeed, the public has been seduced by the inventions of this artistic movement was open to other expressions which he was unaccustomed.

The point of departure : city, street
As support for his compositions Thierry Vieux recreates on canvas atmosphere, a patina "street".

Collages of torn posters, raw materials scraped, scratched serve to support other figurative collages or paintings in acrylic diluted black characters that fit well into the canvas.
Anecdote...
The workshop was broken into on 28/1/2011 thieves have shifted from Thieery Vieux´s paintings, only those of his partner (Liisa Corbiere) them interested. The artist is still very upset...
