Focus on... oil painting
At the origin, Oil painting was creating in the fourteenth century by Van Eyck, Flemish painter. This technique has been developed and used by many painters. Its strengths have enabled it to be used by Van Gogh, Matisse and Monet. In contemporary art, oil still enjoy many artists, with different styles.
The oil painting offers many benefits. Oil provides more vivid colors. More artists work on multiple layers of paint, more and more rich in oil. They work "fat over lean". This technique enables effects. The artists appreciate the differences in subjects they can get. In the galleries Carré d´artistes®, many artists use oil to achieve their works.
