Marc Hanniet, a complete artist
Marc Hanniet is a very sensitive and complete artist. He is a painter, a musician and a poet at the same time. He lives in Lyon since 1997. He follows scientific studies and develops his taste for drawing. Self-taught, he paints for his own pleasure and learns from the great museums of Paris. “ My roots dive in art history with much pleasure and no complexes. If my fruits taste like art history, it doesn’t scared me”. His first paintings, mainly landscapes paintings, are inspired by the impressionist style.
In 1990, he does a professional break in his engineer career in order to dedicate his life to his passion. A friend lends him an art studio where he can work. It is a revelation for him. But rapidly, he has financial difficulties which interrupt his work. He is welcomed by an engraver master who helps him. He discovers inking, acid bath and above all contrast. He didn’t use black color in his work at first, but now it becomes HIS color. His very light features are very much appreciated.
In 1997, he has to go back to a traditional work, but continues to create and explore. He tries Indian inks drawings and creates cats, horses and nudes which seems to be flowing of the paint brush. His ability to create without a model is amazing.
Marc starts to explore and tame the acrylic material on paper. The black stone and the stickings are mixed in random compositions. In 2002, his paintings show up again.
Feminine nudes are his main source of inspiration. He draws silhouettes with an infinite lightness and sensuality. They are carried by the music he likes to play (Jazz and slowness of south American musics). The purity of his lines, the sweetness of his colors and his ease of his gesture reveal a very gifted artist every day.
