Véronique Fièvre, painter of abstraction |

A impulsive painting
After long painted figurative way, I considered painting as a way to express my moods and my feelings. My painting has become more impulsive, spontaneous, sensitive. I traded my brushes for knives, and my actions become stronger.

Now, I play on transparencies, and layers of colors reveal forgotten colors, with effects of material and color. |
Abstract works to travel
My inspiration is fluctuating ... Sometimes it was during a walk in town, at the corner of a street or neighborhood that I memorize the details that strikes me, architectural forms, or just two colors that meet and I want to paint on the canvas.
During my vacation and my travels, I reserve a whole bunch of images and sensations. I take pictures that can inspire me later.
But often, I go in blindly, without preconceived ideas. I´m trying to abstract juxtaposing colors and shapes, and soon the little details emerge, the abstract subject gradually unveils its mystery and takes me somewhere else where I did not intend to go ... and this is a very pleasant trip ...
Basis of her work : spontaneity
I paint with knives and spatulas of different widths, which allows me to support more or less heavily on canvas, wood or paper, scraping, to remove or add more layers. I use an acrylic paint which dries quickly and allows me to work in spontaneity.
Painting is poetry
The more I paint, the more I realize that the nature of things, whether in painting or in other areas, based on simplicity. It is the authenticity of a place, a moment of emotion that I transcribed in my work.
For this, we must exercise restraint and economy, narrowly, as a tightrope walking on a wire, we must reject the superfluous and ostentatious, embrace the modesty to reach more than just the truth of things and go to basics.
I want my painting to be seen as a poem ...
Unusual exhibition venues
I have already exhibited in a wine cellar! I love the Touraine (franch district) and spent considerable time during the holidays. It´s a place to live and the idea to exhibit in a cellar is nice and friendly.
Véronique Fièvre and Carré d´artistes®
